Best musicians list
In case anyone is interested, I have compiled a list of who I consider to be living musicians. I decided to limit the list to those who are still alive as there is still a chance to see them in concert; it is too late to see many of the greats. Also, I have listed two performers in each category as I normally cannot pick between two artists with different styles; I find them both equally talented, but their styles differ. The names are listed in alphabetical order by last name.
Finally, I apologize for this list being so limited to a narrow set of genres. I listen to a wide variety of music, but am not familiar enough with many specic artists to make accurate comparisons. For instance, I like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Toby Keith but am only familiar with a small portion of their overall body of work. I have excluded Country from this list as it would not be fair to many artists for whom I just do not have enough experience to make informed decisions.

No, that’s not a copy and paste error, I feel that Martin Gore and Dave Mustaine are currently the best living song writers and male vocalists. These were tough choices and, in some cases, the individuals listed here narrowly beat other highly talented musicians.

Thanks for commenting on my Megadeth reviews! I agree with you that Dave Mustaine is a brilliant songwriter. I don’t think he has a very good singing voice, but the way he uses it is very effective and he does sing very well.

Captchas are, IMHO, annoyingly hard to read character combinations meant to assure that the user on the site is a real person, not a automated bot.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll keep that in mind. This would definitely tell people who find the article via search engines who’s best musician picks they would be viewing when clicking the link.
